Bob Jones designed and built in the 1990s twelve beautiful miniature Teal Type 52s (‘the classic car for kids’), the only Teals that were an exact copy of Ettore Bugatti originals, in this case the Bugatti Type 52.

Enterprising Tealer JOHN KING discovered a Teal rolling chassis in Selby, brought it to his lovely home county of Shropshire, is having the Teal Type 35 boat tail rebuilt and rebodied, part in GRP and part in aluminium…
… the newly-restored Teal is undergoing undercoat respray, before a final coat of French Blue. The engine is 1800cc MGB twin SUs, and John hopes to have her ready to go by early in the new year; congratulations for putting another fine Teal (now designated TOW125) back on the road, John.

TEAL TYPE 43
and TEAL OF THE WEEK NUMBER 126
This magnificent Teal Type 43 is the brilliant concept of Aaldert Postma in the Netherlands, and was built last year by skilled Teal engineer Mike Hall in Evesham before being shipped to Holland for wiring, lighting, trim and paintwork. There’s a little more work to be done, but Aaldert (who organised the Teals to Tulips Run this Spring) hopes to have this unique beauty on the road for the New Year. Photos below show the Teal 43 leaving Evesham, and further below Aaldert with his youngest son and a little grandson in his fine Teal Type 35 (Teal of the Week No 71) in the Amsterdam sunshine – three generations of Tealers. We congratulate Aaldert on bringing to life two very beautiful and desireable Teals…

A mystery Teal four-seater barnfind has been discovered by a distinguished Tealer, who already owns a delicious two-seater. The four-seater is a runner, but needs a total recommissioning to put it back safely on the road, which is what is planned. At the time of writing, December 2014, the newly-discovered Teal Type 35 four-seater is sitting under a tarpaulin outside the TOC member’s garage. Watch this space for more news of our Teal of the Week No 128. Comment: Tealers will have read in the December 2014 Teal Spiel that lucky Andy Dutton is the new owner of this Teal 35 four-seater; when the weather improves in the spring he hopes to get it into the garage and begin work on the 1800cc engine and fit new wheels as a start point for his restoration. He’ll send us a photo or two as he progresses. Good luck Andy, who also owns the glorious La Tecla 2-seat boat tail…

Responding to my appeal for photos of those Teals not yet recorded on this website as a Teal of the Week, Surrey-based Teal owner and driver Keith Baldwin kindly sent pictures: he bought his fine aluminium 4C/1800 Teal Type 35 boat-tail in July 1993 from Paul Hague, who subsequently purchased a new Teal from Bob Jones in July 1998 (comment: this was late in the manufacture of Teals).
Keith says that after 22 years of ownership of his Teal ‘I can’t think of another car which is such good fun’. Tealers agree.
ps: sorry the photos are not as crisp as they might be: this is mostly the fault of your incompetent webmaster, Brian.
Footnote: Teal of the Week No 130 (NSL 198M) was sold by Total Head Turners at the London Classic Motor Show on 20th Feb 2016. The asking price was £35K. Thanks, Vince, for the info.

This Fine Teal of the Week No 131 was spotted on the internet, but we would be grateful for details of ownership. Is this beauty yours?
Answer: happily John Howell replied on the SkyBlueTeal Forum: this lovely Teal is his and he purchased it in about 1990 from Ben Trumble. Ben was then was constructing Teals in Yorkshire as an agent for Bob Jones – see Ben Trumble’s page on this website for his full story. Thanks, John – she’s a beauty.

Spotted by hawk-eyes David Ward on the French Classic Car Blog Gégé, this aluminium Teal Type 35 is not one which he or I have come across before (we thought – see note below). She’s a beauty, even (especially?) without the spare and mudguards at this French car show. Do you know her? Here’s another photo below of what I think we will be calling Teal of the Week No 132, being tended by Phil Massey’s Continental twin…

At the Brooklands Autumn Classic Breakfast meeting on the weekend 24/25 October, David Ward with Angelo and Antonio de Souza met up with Philip Wilkins in his stunning Teal Type 35B boat tail with the Jaguar 6C/4200 engine and triple SU carburettors…
That’s Philip in the striped top talking to Angelo – most of us haven’t seen this splendid Teal before. Philip had come down from Essex, and has changed the MGB diff. for a stronger Jaguar one able to cope with the considerable power generated by the 6C/4200 motor…and of course it’s a Type 35 B, with the modified suspension (see photo 2 above) designed by Bob Jones to take the larger and heavier engines, to provide a lower stance on the road, and an even more attractive frontal aspect.
This is a notable, exceptional and lovely Teal; we thank Philip for bringing it to the show at Brooklands,and David, Antonio and Angelo for the photos.

This Teal is not one of Aaldert’s . Nor does it belong to Hans. Nor is it Dutch Teal of the Week No 66. It is the 134 th Teal for which we have photos on this website and therefore Teal of the Week No 134 – and there are at least 40 more Teals out there not yet represented on these pages….
Does anyone know who owns this Teal, or recognise that cockpit? Thanks, Tealing folk.
